The future of the Carronshore Blog? Next session it will be in the hands of the school art specialist. I'm really looking forward to the blog's new adventures :-)
falkedu
I hope the audience continues to grow and grow!

All this led to me writing a case study for my Chartered Teacher M.Ed about my use of online spaces with classes
falkedu
I started my own blog to help with the writing up of the dissertation
falkedu
It took me almost a year to gather all the information - but I did it!
falkedu
I'm not in class for a while. This session the blog has been in the very capable hands of Miss Law and P 5L/W

The class loved using the forums on wetpaint!

Very early on in our blogging journey, I had set up a class wiki to give the children their own online space.
falkedu
Every child had a page on the wiki. To begin with, we shared a common password. Later I learned that wikispaces issued passwords to individuals if requested.
falkedu
Later, I discovered pbwiki. We had four wikis and used them to work on the different writing types.
falkedu
The children enjoyed these spaces and regularly updated their pages at home.
falkedu
The children self and peer assessed their work. They were very aware of their wider audience, too!
falkedu
Discussion tabs were used to leave comments on each others' work.
falkedu
The maths wikis were used to host the podcasts they made to record how the different groups tackled the set problems.
falkedu
Later on we accessed the wikis via avatars on the main class blog.
falkedu
We were involved in a number of really interesting projects, too!
falkedu
We set up an 'Australian Topic' wiki and worked with the 'Allstars' and Mrs P. in Sydney. They had their own page in our wiki.
falkedu
The 'Voices of the World' project introduced us to lots of new online tools, and was loads of fun, too!
falkedu
We joined the 'Photo-A-Day for Schools' project and learned how to edit photos and upload them to our flickr group.
falkedu
A fun 'wetpaint' wiki was set up.
falkedu
One day we discovered that our blogs were blocked at school....not a happy moment :-(
falkedu
We moved the blogs over to edublogs. It was a lot of work, and we worried about losing our audience.
falkedu
Happily, everything turned out Ok - and soon I felt ready to give the pupils their own individual blogs.
falkedu
A blog was also set up to improve collaborative problem solving skills.
falkedu
We shared problems with pupils in Dingwall and recorded the process on video.
falkedu
The class individual blogs were initially set up with the help of David Gilmour and edubuzz.
falkedu
The following year, I felt confident enough to set up monitored individual blogs on edublogs.
falkedu
I still remember the excitement of seeing our first post online!
falkedu
Our first blog was with blogger.com. It was initially set up to improve the children's writing skills.
falkedu
The children's 'Blogging Rules' were embedded in a page on their new blogs.
