ianmclean We hope you enjoyed our slideshow. Thank you for the great comments.
Margaret McEwan Well done to the skilled and creative students at Penrith Public School. Just amazing!
Helen Fuller Congratulations - I am going to use this as an example of creative information management with my Year 8 Class.
Kaye Baillie A happy and fun production. Phew, I felt tired from all those activities. That's because I'm not little anymore. Robbie is a great little guy and would make any child feel excited about starting school.
Tracey Hawkins (author) Great job to all. I loved Robbie's day at school.
Meredith Costain This is brilliant! Thanks so much Ian, and Stage 2 and 3 students. You are all very clever! So many details, and I love Robbie Rules.
Paul Collins Brilliant, Ian!
ianmclean Many thanks to author Meredith Costain for sending us a signed copy of her picture book, and to Ms Stockton for allowing Robbie Rules to visit the school library for the last few weeks of Term 4, 2013. This digital story was brainstormed by Stage 3 and Stage 2 students. We can't wait for the next group of new Kindergarten students to arrive in Term 1, 2014. We will be their Buddies!
ianmclean A digital story suggested by Stage 3 and Stage 2 students at Penrith Public School.
ianmclean Inspired by the picture book by Meredith Costain & Michelle Macintosh (Windy Hollow Books, 2013).
ianmclean On my first day at school, I see my Stage 3 buddies. I met them last year...
ianmclean ... at Kindergarten Orientation. But first...
ianmclean Mummy says "Goodbye" by licking her finger and wiping away my Vegemite toast grin.
ianmclean the teacher tells us all about what shoes to wear.
ianmclean My Stage 3 buddies have shoes with laces. The teacher doesn't like having to tie our laces when they are damp.
ianmclean Maybe we should wear shoes with buckles until we learn to tie our own laces?
ianmclean Wow! There are so many indoor activities!
ianmclean I like playing with Barbie's castle.
ianmclean I love playing on the computer!
ianmclean And I want to keep this hat from the Dress-up Box forever. But I can't wear it outside.
ianmclean It's time to wash our hands before Recess. My buddy's shoelaces get wet from the floor. Maybe the teacher will tie them up again for him?
ianmclean Yum! I like the healthy food I found in my lunchbox...
ianmclean once I could get it open. HELP! * I NEED HELP! * Please.
ianmclean Now which one is my hat? The rule says, "No hat, no play."
ianmclean I found my hat! And a pigeon found my food.
ianmclean "ROBBIE, DON'T GO OUT OF THE SCHOOL GROUNDS!"
ianmclean "Please stay in the playground!"
ianmclean "No! Do NOT climb the tree!"
ianmclean "Can't you read?"
ianmclean No. This is my first day in Kindergarten.
ianmclean My buddies say that it's safer in the sandpit.
ianmclean So why do they keep watching me?
ianmclean I do like this sandpit. Where did I put my hat?
ianmclean I think it fell off when I was on the monkey bars.
ianmclean Or playing hopscotch.
ianmclean The afternoon activities go so fast!
ianmclean Soon it is Bell Time.
ianmclean The teacher said I could ring the bell, but just this once.
ianmclean On the very last day of Year 6, my buddies will say "Goodbye" by going through The Arch!
ianmclean It's a Penrith Public School tradition.
ianmclean I can't wait till I leave Year 6 and go through The Arch to high school.
ianmclean But first, I have to learn to read!
